Bozeman Health celebrates grand opening of new critical care unit

The need for medical attention is at an all time high right now, which makes perfect timing for the new intensive care unit at Bozeman Health.

With gold scissors in hand, Dr. Andrew Sullivan marked a new chapter for the ICU at Bozeman Health, fully equipped with brand new technology and one of a kind safety features.

“So having this antechamber, this pre-room with a sink, this is a place kind of like an in-between space,” said Sullivan.

Because of the pandemic, the opening celebration was live-streamed instead of a public viewing but media was given a walking tour, where we were shown the latest technology, innovative rooms with modern features, and special designs to help nurses and doctors provide better care.

“We really encourage the family members to stay with our patients,” said Val Reddick, the manager of the critical care unit.

And most importantly, more healthcare access for everyone.

“Having access to timely healthcare services allows individuals to pursue education, continue their work, enjoy healthy life outdoors, and to contribute to the economic vitality of our region,” said Dr. Mark Williams, the chief physician officer.

Officials with the hospital estimate the new unit will be operating and open to patients by the end of this week.
